Drina

Congress Room 3 – named after the River Drina

The Drina River, the longest in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is formed by the confluence of the Piva and Tara rivers and is known for its dramatic canyons, hydroelectric potential, and whitewater rafting.

Among its most iconic landmarks is the Old Bridge in Višegrad, built in 1571 as the legacy of Grand Vizier Mehmed Pasha Sokolović. This bridge famously inspired Nobel Prize-winning author Ivo Andrić to write his literary masterpiece The Bridge on the Drina, capturing centuries of local history and life along the river.
